When your operation needs a properly scoped solution

A newly fabricated collector will only perform as intended when the inlet ductwork, fan, discharge arrangement and filter access work together. Poor siting can leave operators struggling to empty bins, maintain filters or reach inspection doors. We assist industrial customers with collector installation that takes the full extraction network into account.

What we review on site

Before installation we check the proposed collector location against available space, support requirements, maintenance clearance, delivery access and connections to the upstream process. We also look at the downstream exhaust path and whether a plant has restrictions on noise, roof access or operating hours. Installation planning begins with the approved equipment specification, not with cutting duct openings on site.

How we approach the work

The work scope can include positioning the collector, assembling duct connections, connecting selected extraction points and coordinating electrical requirements with qualified personnel. We check for obvious air leaks and mechanical issues before handing the system over for the commissioning process agreed for the project. For an existing site, we also discuss what production areas need to remain operational while new equipment is fitted.

Technical suitability and safe operation

Collector location affects dust removal, routine cleaning and service life. The installation must be suitable for the collected material and the conditions around it; special hazards need an appropriate design review. We do not promise a filtration result or regulatory sign-off without a defined specification and relevant testing.

Information that helps us prepare your quotation

Send the collector drawings or model information if available, site photographs, floor or roof plan, duct connection locations and the required installation date. We will identify missing information before preparing an installation quote.

Preparing the receiving site

Before installation we establish the collector footprint, lifting route, floor or structural support, weather exposure and access for routine servicing. Positioning a unit where the filters cannot be removed or the hopper cannot be emptied creates ongoing production problems. We also confirm how ducting will reach the equipment without blocking vehicle routes or plant maintenance areas.

Mechanical and electrical boundaries

The installation plan needs an agreed interface between collector fabrication, mechanical positioning, duct connections, electrical supply, controls and commissioning. Existing fans and ducting should be inspected for suitability before connection. Where pressure measurements or performance tests are specified, the measuring points and acceptance criteria should be agreed in advance.

Commissioning information

Provide site drawings, access restrictions, shutdown windows, unloading arrangements and the responsible site contact. We discuss isolation, permits and coordination with contractors before fixing the installation programme. A system should only be handed over against an agreed commissioning scope.

Commissioning boundaries

Mechanical completion, electrical energisation and performance verification are separate activities. The proposal should identify which parties are responsible for each stage and the handover information to be provided.

Equipment and operating considerations

A collector should be placed where the duct run, discharge arrangements and maintenance access can all function without interrupting production unnecessarily. Installation decisions include support foundations, lifting clearance, power isolation, safe filter removal and where captured waste will go. A long duct route or multiple bends may change fan duty compared with the original proposal. Before work starts, we review the machine list, pickup points and available layout drawings; the equipment must then be checked under representative process conditions.
